Letterpress Greeting Card - I Love You to Death
More Greeting Cards
More Love & Valentines
More Day of the Dead Sundries
We just love letterpress cards and letters. The elegance of vintage stationery is all but forgotten. We're simply delighted that some smaller companies are offering the same high-quality papers and designs with a modern touch - so we can offer them to you! The simple design represents the simple sentiment so well. And, of course, because it is letterpress, you can feel the imprint of the images and sentiments with your fingers.
An elegant Victorian-style wooden coffin is printed on the front of the card, topped off by a flowery heart. On the top of the box is a cross and on the sides, two Day of the Dead style skeletons adorn the carrying handles.
Inside, there is an image of two graves, side-by-side, with the same heart repeated inside and the sentiment, in a flowery font, matching the heart, reads:
I LOVE YOU TO DEATH
The 4-3/4 inch card is morbidly sweet. Consider it for a Valentine or for any time you want to make a lifetime commitment. This fine greeted card is printed on fine pressed cardstock with sepia-toned ink.
Please remember that square greeting cards require extra postage.

More Birthday
From KOCO NY, this square greeting card offers a birthday philosophy for someone who is dear and very special to you (and lots of others!):

That I haven't taken enough risks. I cherish stolen moments.

Happy Birthday - i believe in cobalt blue
More Picasso
From KOCO NY, this square greeting card offers a birthday philosophy of the color blue - as well as thoughts from Picasso:
Color has a musical quality. Always interacting with adjacent tones, the sound of blue will change right before your eyes. The color of an object depends both on physics and laws of perception: it is both measureable as reflected light and contextual as an experience. The blues is a kind of sound, a series of moods and a range of hues. Colors in relation to each other are a dynamic demonstration of reality unfolding. Art is an aesthetic act; blue is one of its movements. Egyptian blue, indigo blue, true blue, rhythm & blues. "When I don't have red, I use blue." - Picasso i believe in cobalt blue.

Die Cut Nietzsche Flexible Greeting Card
Send your favorite epigrams to a friend with our die-cut Nietzsche greeting card! Comes with an envelope and a sticker sheet filled with traditional messages like Happy Birthday and Happy Mother's Day as well as quotes from Nietzsche, such as:
Shared Joys make a friend, not shared sufferings.
One should never know too precisely whom one has married!
If you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back at you.
...and more...
Nietzsche was proud of being an unsystematic philosopher. When he philosophized at all it was with a hammer (hence a hammer illustration is included) - to break down what he called brittle thoughts. Nietzsche is better described as an anti-moralist who passionately rejected Western bourgeois civilization. He regarded Christianity as decadent, and in place of its slave morality he looked to the Übermensch, a heroic and noble individual who would consciously affirm life and whose will to power would set him apart from the herd of humanity.
Nietzsche's signature and some other special illustrations are also included on the sticker sheet.

Happy Birthday - i heart subjectivity.
From KOCO NY, this square greeting card offers a birthday philosophy that is good advice for anytime:
Subjectivism is the idea that all knowledge is restricted to the conscious self and its sensory states. It's a theory stating that the only valid standard of judgment is that of the individual. An objective truth is different than a subjective truth. T? F? The sky is blue. T? F? My experience of what happened is the same as "what happened." T? F? Artistic expression emerges from a person's inner world, not the external world. Hold on to subjective experience.
i heart subjectivity.
it's your strong inner voice that has the outer world come alive happy birthday

3D Note Card - MC Escher - Puddle
The only way we can think to describe these is way cool! Working in much the same way as the Currier & Ives stereoviews of the past, these operate on the venerable principle of the stereopticon. The viewer does not use the 3D-TV Glasses with one blue and one red lenses. These cards, instead have a nearly identical image for each lens - and of course, there is a cut-out for your nose. You can even adjust the focus - just squeeze the folded-out card.
There's a space for a short message and the whole card folds flat for mailing in the envelope provided. Perfect for the occasion when a gift is too much and a card too little!
Dutch artist Maurits Cornelis Escher (1898-1972) was and is one of the world's most famous graphic artists. The left-handed artist is best known for his impossible structures and amazing three-dimensional woodcuts and drawings. He was consistently fascinated with congruency, perspective and technique: often spending hours experimenting.
This black and white reproduction of his 3-color woodcut is called Puddle. The 1952 original was about 9-1/2 inches by 12-1/2 inches.
Price: $5.95 each
Happy Birthday - i work for what's real.
From KOCO NY, this square greeting card offers a birthday philosophy that questions being and reality, or does it?
what is reality? how do we know what's real? is a flower more real than the idea of a flower? realism, as a modern philosophical notion, is the idea that physical objects exist independently of their being perceived. is a social worker's reality more real than a painter's reality. is it possible for something to be real & not have a physical existence? is reality really only about literal truths, non-fictions, & actual happenings or is there a reality within each of us as human beings? as les mccann once said to eddie harris, "try to make it real compared to what?"
to the possibilities you bring into reality (& into my life) happy birthday
