The joy of collecting postage stamps is one shared by so many people around the world. I was first interested in these so many years ago when my Dad was the Postmaster in our small town. We would get every new stamp as it arrived. So, when we first discovered artistamps, we were even more excited!
These sheets of blank artistamps are really stamp blanks. You can make your own by painting, rubber stamping, doodling or what have you. These are professionally perforated on a vintage perforator and they are made of gummed paper - the kind you lick to stick. We suggest, of course, that you use a water applicator to dampen them, or, of course you can lick them.
Each sheet features 40 blank stamps as well as a perforated border - it looks great when you create your image and use 2 or more stamps and the border - very artsy!
Each stamp measures 7/8 inch by 1-1/4 inch.

These were all created by hand on a vintage perforator - they way stamps were made so very long ago. They are not manufactured.
Each sheet features 6 blank stamps as well as a perforated border - it looks great when you create your image and use 2 or more stamps and the border - very artsy!
Each stamp measures 1-3/4 inch by 2-5/8 inches. They can be used as wide stamps as shown or as tall stamps (see the close-up).

How wonderful the very old desk accessories and office supplies were. Even the printing on the throw-away covers was nicer - and, on this sleeve, the description has been letterpress printed.
This full package of NoTear Price Book Sheets is in great condition. Some of the outer sleeves might have slight wear or a small rip, but the pages are in excellent aged condition. Each sheet is reinforced with a fabric tape, resembling book tape.
The pages measure 6-5/8 inches long by 3-5/8 inches wide, meant for a 6-3/4 by 3-3/4 inch notebook. They are 3-hole punched.
The outside sleeve reads:

We have not counted the sheets in the sleeve as we did not want to destroy the packages: the stack is about 1/4 inch thick

This Asian ceremonial metal-leaf paper is used in rituals and celebrations to ensure that we don't dwell too much on monetary pursuits. The papers are burned or torn, representing the riches of this world. Because of this, joss paper is also known as Spirit Paper.
Each sheet of rough paper is accented by a piece of silver leaf that has been attached to the sheet with adhesive. Also printed in the traditional manner in auspicious red ink are a variety of patterns and symbols. Then, each sheet has been brushed with an orange wash of paint to create a golden leaf from the original silver. An additional printing over the leaf in red features Asian characters.
Tear and glue to artwork for a unique effect without all the trouble and expense of leafing techniques. This is perfect for Asian artwork.

Double Sheet Asian Joss Paper - Package of 10 Sheets

Single Sheet Asian Joss Paper

This is the original paper of the Western Hemisphere! And, it is still made today just as it was over 700 years ago.
For hundreds of years, the Otomi Indians harvested the bark of naturally fallen fig and mulberry trees. They then washed it in the streams and then boil the bark in lime water. Then, the Indians beat the damp, pliable fibers and lay them out in the sun to dry.
This beautiful, primitive paper has an unsurpassed texture. You can certainly use it to make and bind books and for drawing, painting, and collage. It is especially striking when painted with opaque paints, such as gouache.

Papyrus Sheet
A 6” x 8” piece of reed paper, produced in Egypt just as it has been for thousands of years. Each sheet has its individual characteristics and colorings as papyrus is made with natural materials. Irregular edges identify this as the real thing!

Traditional Parchment
The original paper! This is natural tanned cowhide (6-inch square) or goathide (4 inches by 6 inches) that is ready for your artwork. One side is rough-hewn; the other, smooth. Each piece is accompanied by a smaller sampler piece that you can use for practice. As the parchment is a natural product, each piece is different. It is coarser than our traditional vellum, but is quite handsome nonetheless.
